A young Norville Center staff member's perspective
When I applied to work at the shelter, I thought it
would just be like babysitting. It was a little like babysitting, but more like
being a mother and a buddy.
At the shelter, the kids are treated as if they are a family.
There are many things to do around the house. The kids can play outside, play
games, watch television or any number of other things. The most important thing
of all is the love and attention that the children receive. There is not one
person who works at the shelter that does not show all of the kids the love that
each child needs and deserves.
Working with the shelter has touched me in many ways. It takes
a lot of heart to do my job, but I am glad that I have the opportunity to work
with these children, and I hope that I am making a difference in their lives.
